What Recall keeps, and where

Recall keeps its session history on your computer, in your user profile:

  • Windows: %APPDATA%\com.gberg.recall-studio
  • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/com.gberg.recall-studio

There is no account and no cloud. Recall doesn’t upload your projects, audio, notes or captured changes.

Your Ableton sets

Recall reads your saved sets to work out what changed between versions. It never writes anything back to them.

Updates

When it opens, Recall checks the public releases page on GitHub for a new version. Updates are signed, and Recall verifies the signature before installing anything. Updating replaces the app only; your data folder is untouched.

Problem reports

Nothing is sent automatically. Report a problem shows you the full report first, and only pressing Send sends it. A report can mention project and file names, so read it before sending.

This website

This site is a set of static files. It has no analytics or trackers and sets no cookies. Nothing loads from other companies’ servers: the fonts and every script come from here. Like any web host, the server it runs on may keep standard request logs (your IP address, the page and the time) for security.

The waitlist

The waitlist isn’t open yet, so this site isn’t collecting email addresses. When it opens, this section will name the service that receives them.

Removing everything

Uninstall Recall, then delete the data folder above if you also want the captured history gone.
